Jev-elator

Jev-elator is a synthetic elevator simulation. Choose how the elevator decides its next stop:

Random

Chooses randomly from the active pickup and drop-off floors.

Standard

Uses a conventional directional elevator policy: continue the current sweep, then reverse when that direction is exhausted.

Jev

Lets Jev choose the next legal floor case by case, balancing the state of the elevator with a little bit of elevator-operator instinct.

You can also tune the rider characteristics that influence how Jev weighs a decision:

Need to pee

Raises urgency when a rider really needs a restroom.

Carrying a box

Raises urgency for a rider carrying a heavy box.

War criminal

Applies a fictional “bad karma” service penalty without ever denying service.

$Tipping culture

Gives Jev a small tie-breaker between money and its responsibility to riders.
